A fresh shipment of unique Terracotta pots has just arrived here at C&S Garden Center!
Meaning "baked earth", in Italian, Terra Cotta is usually made from coarse, porous clay and naturally oxidized earth pigments called "ocher". Terracotta has been used by many cultures for thousands of years, even up to 10,000 BCE! Perhaps the most famous example is the "Terracotta Army"; roughly 8,000 life-sized statues of soldiers created from terracotta clay!
Being made from porous clay, terracotta is great for many plants because it helps to absorb excess moisture, drying out the soil much quicker, and preventing problems like root rot!
